Pediatric Thorax and Abdomen Phantom
Anthropomorphic phantoms for pediatric applications
OVERVIEW
- For dose estimation and image quality purposes
- Different sizes available (newborn, 1-, 3-, 6-, 12- or 15-years)
- Dosimetry versions available
The Pediatric Thorax Phantom comprises artificial lung lopes, a spine insert, and a shell of soft tissue-equivalent material.
The anthropomorphic Pediatric Abdomen Phantom in the size of an infant comprises a fixed liver and spleen insert, a spine insert, and a shell of soft tissue-equivalent material. A full body version without the liver and spleen inserts is available.
The plastics used mimic human tissues in an infant thorax or abdomen with respect to density and X-ray attenuation characteristics.
The phantoms can be delivered with an additional bore hole of 50 mm diameter at the heart/stomach position to accommodate different inserts. A dosimetry version, including drilled holes according to CTDI specifications, is also available. Alternatively, different contrast inserts filled with CaHA or iodine can be used.
